This evidence based course looks into how you can best advise clients about their hunger and satiety.

You will cover the fundamentals of hunger, satiety and satiation, the medical science behind hunger, satiety and satiation and how you should be advising clients to best manage their diet in order to succeed with their goals.

This online course should take approximately 3 hours to complete. It covers the following learning objectives.

By the end of this module, students should be able to:

  • Understand the mechanisms driving a patient's calorie intake
  • Empower patients to manage satiety and improve diet success
  • Recognise and manage the behavioural and cognitive components of hunger regulation
  • Administer appropriate recommendations and referrals

Entry requirements
There are no specific entry requirements for this course. Students have come from a range of backgrounds from health care professionals and students, exercise referral students, personal trainers and those interested in learning more about hunger and satiety.

This course is designed, written and delivered by a team of sports scientists, academics, specialist instructors, cyclists, triathletes, educationalists and experienced personal trainers.

Students are expected to attend a weekend (day and a half) of face to face teaching. The weekend will be predominantly be practically based but will include revision of the relevant anatomy and physiology specific to studio cycling.
